The Vineyard’s bridal suite opened early for Ashlee and her crew, who arrived at 11:00 AM. The morning was peaceful and lighthearted, filled with laughter, music, and a few happy tears. Hair and makeup by Karen Gifford of Karen's Hair Studio was done at home, allowing Ashlee to arrive feeling relaxed, radiant, and fully in the moment.

Ashlee wore a breathtaking gown from Wendy’s Bridal, selected with the help of Lila and her expert team. The classic silhouette, soft lace details, and dramatic train were the perfect match for the setting. Against the backdrop of fresh green vines and a moody spring sky, she looked absolutely timeless.

Kyle, dressed in a sharp suit from Henry’s, arrived at 12:30 PM with his groomsmen. The anticipation grew as the couple prepared for their emotional first look.

First Look Among the Vines

At 2:00 PM, under a sky heavy with spring clouds, Ashlee and Kyle shared their first look near the vineyard rows. The moment was tender and emotional—captured perfectly by Forever Green Studios. Joe, their talented photographer, did an incredible job of using the dramatic skies and soft lighting to create intimate portraits full of depth and emotion.

Just before family photos began, a gentle spring rain began to fall—and it couldn’t have been more magical. The couple embraced the weather, smiling and laughing under umbrellas and beside our glistening pond. The soft drizzle added a cinematic touch to every shot. Ashlee and Kyle’s ceremony was held outdoors at our vineyard ceremony site. The soft sound of the rain had faded just in time for guests to take their seats, with umbrellas tucked away and the sun peeking through clouds.

Pastor Jim Murphy of Misio Church led a heartfelt, 45-minute religious ceremony that honored the couple’s love and commitment in front of 140 cherished guests. The aisle was framed by simple, elegant florals from Wild Flower, arranged by Alex and her team in a mix of soft blush, cream, and greenery. Bud vases and a custom arch provided the perfect touch of spring garden romance.

Guests were welcomed with warm hospitality, and after the ceremony, a joyful receiving line allowed everyone a personal moment with the newlyweds.

Elegant Reception in a Vineyard Setting

The reception at The Vineyard at St. Charles was the perfect blend of elevated elegance and laid-back charm, showcasing why this venue is a favorite wedding venue near Des Moines. At 9:55 PM, Ashlee and Kyle made their grand exit under a sea of bubbles—an ethereal moment that perfectly captured the spirit of their day. The couple was sent off into married life surrounded by love, laughter, and so many joyful memories.
